COPENHAGEN BEER WEEK på Glyptoteket

I anledning af  COPENHAGEN BEER WEEK 2023 byder Glyptoteket velkommen til en aften i øllets tegn. Aftenen begynder med en omvisning, hvor vi ser nærmere på øllets rolle i oldtidens Ægypten.
Bagefter kan du nyde en middag inspireret af oldtidens Ægypten, i museets café, Picnic, med udsigt til den smukke og stemningsfyldte Vinterhave.

Uden øl havde der, ifølge en populær myte, slet ikke været nogen gamle ægyptere. Øl spillede en afgørende rolle blandt både guder og mennesker. På omvisningen undersøger vi øllets kulturhistorie og beruselsens betydning for dagliglivet langs Nilen. Undervejs dykker vi ned i museets ægyptiske samling, som både rummer hieroglyf-inskriptioner om ofringer af ’1000 krukker øl’ og rester af korn fra et gravudstyr, som selvfølgelig havde sit eget bryggeri.

Kl. 17.30, 18.00 og 19.00.
Hver omvisning varer ca. 25 minutter og der er plads til 35 personer på hver omvisning.

COPENHAGEN BEER WEEK at the Glyptoteket 

On the occasion of COPENHAGEN BEER WEEK 2023, Glyptoteket welcomes you to an evening dedicated to beer. The evening begins with a tour where we take a closer look at the role of beer in ancient Egypt.
Afterwards, you will enjoy a dinner inspired by ancient Egypt, in the museum's café, Picnic, with a view of the beautiful and atmospheric Winter Garden.

Without beer, according to a popular myth, there would have been no ancient Egyptians. Beer played a vital role among both gods and men. On the tour, we examine the cultural history of beer and the significance of intoxication for daily life along the Nile. Along the way, we delve into the museum's Egyptian collection, which contains both hieroglyphic inscriptions about offerings of '1000 jars of beer' and remains of grain from a burial equipment, which of course had its own brewery.

Each tour lasts approx. 25 minutes and there is room for 35 people on each tour.
